Community Counselor
Hello! I am the Community Counselor for Charlotte, North Carolina. I grew up on Long Island (NY) and moved to Charlotte in 2000 with my husband. We have two active and fun-loving boys and an 85-lb lap-dog. In my free time, I enjoy watching the boys play baseball, swimming, cooking and travelling.
I graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling from Long Island University. I have worked in various counseling roles in higher education and am currently in private practice counseling adults. Having walked over 100 miles in multiple Avon Walks for Breast Cancer along with fundraising over $10,000 for the cause, I am passionate about raising awareness and increasing access to care for breast cancer.
At a young age, I realized the importance of learning about other cultures by travelling internationally. I learned most about the culture and the country when I had a “home-stay”. These experiences left a lasting impression on me. Since then, I’ve always looked for ways to “make the world a smaller, better place” and found one way through the au pair program. Prior to becoming the Community Counselor, we hosted an au pair for three years. Now I enjoy helping au pairs learn about American culture and sharing my experience and knowledge with host families as the Community Counselor.
