The place to find out about Au Pair in America in New Orleans, LA and surrounding communities
What better way to anticipate summer than to take that first dip in the pool and follow up with the first taste of summer peaches…
PEACH COBBLER (sugar alert!!)
6 peaches (peeled or not as preferred)
1 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup water
Slice peaches, place in casserole, buttered, add water.
Crumble sugar, flour and margarine together. Pour over the top of peaches.
Bake 350 for about 45 min.
It’s a very easy and very yummy desert that’s equally delicious when prepared with apples (peeled). However, sugar content is high to say the least, so it’s probably best to fix it every now and then only. Enjoy!

On a beautiful April morning, host families and au pairs enjoyed an international get together in City Park.

On Saturday, March 10, 2012 au pairs participated in Children’s World’s Fair at Louisiana Children’s Museum. They shared the cultures of their countries with the public through posters, pictures, flags, games, sticker, tattoos and books. They also enjoyed visiting the booths of other presenters and getting a glimpse of Japanese sword fighting, Peruvian folk dancing and the singing of German schnitzel song. What fun!

Au pairs are looking forward to participating in Children’s World’s Fair at Louisiana Children’s Museum. They will share their cultures through poster presentations, displays of cultural items and souvenirs, country fact sheets, games, story readings, music and more. Countries represented will include Germany, Bolivia, France, Austria, South Africa, Australia, Poland, Costa Rica and Brazil.

Please come and join us in celebrating world’s cultures!

NO Art District is one of the most interesting places to visit in the city. After a lovely get together at American Sector Café, au pairs enjoyed exploring the district and its galleries, studios, and numerous museums.
Adventure Quest was abuzz with activity and au pairs enjoyed watching tikes scramble into bumper cars, but for themselves they chose a more sedate activity at their favorite establishment – Starbucks.

Potluck and gift exchange were on the agenda for the December cluster meeting. Just for the fun of it, au pairs unwrapped the presents while wearing oven mitts. It was a challenge, but they completed the task with great alacrity. They also had fun swapping tips on Christmas shopping and discussing holiday plans and winter break activities with their host kids.

To find out more about educational opportunities in New Orleans and get a closer look at an American college campus, au pairs visited Tulane University.
They saw lecture halls and sports facilities, watched students toss ball in the quad, checked out the Tulane Victory Bell at McAlister Auditorium Plaza, and stopped at the Newcomb Art Gallery to view Prospect.2 exhibition.
It would be fun to study at Tulane, they decided.

Alligators, herons, turtles and raccoons were just some of the animals au pairs had a chance to observe while traversing the Manchac swamp with the Cajun Pride Tours.
A lively and informative commentary, in both English and French, by the guide, and a visit from a baby alligator made for a fun and interesting outing.
