Au Pairs Experience Sailing in Annapolis!

CSC_1172DSC_1181 DSC_1184 DSC_1188 DSC_1185 DSC_1176 DSC_1204 The Annapolis cluster au pairs went sailing in Annapolis this past Friday on the Woodwind Schooner (https://www.facebook.com/SchoonerWoodwind).  While the weather did not completely participate it was a truly enjoyable evening.  We saw a beautiful sunset, saw some amazing osprey nests (they are actually sea hawks we learned from the captain!), donned rain gear, saw a rainbow and steered the helm!  All in one night ~ a very quintessential Annapolis experience that hopefully will be remembered for many years after their return back home.

Free Workshop for Parents to plan for college tuition for your children

While you still may have young children it is never too early to plan for their college tuition. The cost of a Bachelor’s Degree starts at $80,000, and can rise to over $250,000 for 4 years at some private colleges. This is a major investment, and having expert advice can make an enormous difference financially and emotionally. A  great seminar to educate parents is being held on Tuesday, April 29th from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at the Ports of Call at the Double Tree Hotel located at 210 Holiday Court Annapolis, MD 21401 .  The event is free and lunch will be provided.  This event is presented by Cori Dykman, Annapolis College Consulting (www.AnnapolisCollegeConsulting.com) and Pablo Alvarado, a financial advisor.  If you are interested please RSVP on this evite link so that the organizers know how to plan accordingly.  http://www.evite.com/event/03D0TWVUZV3YBYNDWEPDX2O4V7JJAU?gid=03D02UBKVR6IDEG44EPDYTIGRVSYLQ

After snow caused the Baltimore cluster to reschedule 2 outdoor events, they opted for a cozy meetup at Panera Bread Company where they enjoyed bagels, and each others company. Au pairs each received an umbrella with the APIA logo!  The Annapolis cluster participated in an International Cookie Exchange where all the girls brought home baked cookies typical of their home country to share!  All the girls went home with a bag of cookies from all over the world.  They also participated in a Secret Santa gift exchange and for some it was the first time they engaged in stealing gifts from each other!  Additionally, a Federal Marshall stopped by to speak with the girls about safety tips when out on the town with friends and how to remain alert when out with the children they take care of during the busy holiday season.  The Annapolis cluster received coffee mugs filled with hot chocolate as their gift!
