Schools out; the kids are happy!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Here are a few ideas for ways to celebrate the end of school:<\/p>\n

Make a Banner.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Tape a\u00a0banner that says \u201cWelcome to Summer!\u201d across\u00a0the door\u00a0leading into the house. When the kids come home, they each get to crash through a banner to symbolize the official start of summer vacation.\u00a0It is a great way to\u00a0off the summer with a bang!<\/p>\n

Bake\u00a0a Broken Pencil Cake.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0To make the event even sweeter,\u00a0bake a cake in the shape of a broken pencil, even share it with the\u00a0other kids in the neighborhood.\u00a0 Before frosting the cake, cut a zigzag line across the middle of the pencil and separate the two halves.<\/p>\n

Make Kids\u2019 Art T-shirt.\u00a0<\/strong>Do you have an artist\u00a0who loves to show off\u00a0his\/her artwork?\u00a0 Have the kids\u00a0pick their favorite piece of art from the year,\u00a0scan it into the computer, and print it on iron-on transfer paper. This way the kids can wear their favorite art!<\/p>\n

Have a cook-out and make s’mores:<\/strong> a s’more is a favorite American treat.\u00a0 Start with a roasted marshmallow and place it on a graham cracker.\u00a0 Top the marshmallow with a piece of Hershey’s chocolate (or a piece of a peanut butter cup) and then finish it off with another graham cracker!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The chocolate gets soft, the marshmallow is gooey; it is delicious!<\/p>\n
