My name is Judit Markarian and I live in Bethesda with my husband and two children. My husband and I have lived in the neighborhood for many years. We love spending time with our children and our friends. We like to go for walks, bike rides, and to swim at our community pool in the summer. We also really enjoy discovering new places and we especially love traveling with our children!

I am originally from Hungary and moved to California I was 13 years old. During my undergraduate studies, I took a year off to live and work in Germany. After I graduated from college, I worked at a small computer company in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years until my job moved me to Washington, D.C. in 1999. Most recently, I have taught ESOL at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria and in Reston.
Hi! I am interesting in talking to you about finding an au pair for my family – I have 4 kids (17 year old girl, 13 and 11 year old boys and 9 year old girl) so I need an au pair who wants to work with older kids, comfortable driving them to their activities and helping maintain a schedule for their homework, chores, meals, screen time, etc. I work part time (mainly in the morning) and would also like the au pair to get the kids off to school in the morning (maybe around 7-9?) so I can go into work early and be home in the afternoons/early evenings (maybe around 3-8?). Even though I will be home most afternoons (i might need to work from home or stay at the office occasionally) but most afternoons it takes two people to get some of the kids to their activities and at the same time to be home to supervise the ones without activities. We could also use an extra set of hands on the weekends although this is not essential. We are a busy, dynamic, energetic family with a wide range of athletic and artistic interests (soccer, biking, running, ballet, drama, etc) and we are looking for someone who is really interested in working with a large family of older kids and also someone with the right personality in terms of being assertive and comfortable in a fun (sometimes loud!) family!
Dear Erica, Please give us a call to discuss your needs. It sounds like an au pair would be able to help you out. You can reach me at aupairjudit@gmail.com.
All the best!
