It is valid anywhere in the world except your home country.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul class=\"xoxo blogroll\">\n<li>Use the<span style=\"color: #00b1af\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.culturalinsurance.com\/mycisiapp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">myCISI app<\/a><\/span> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mycisi.com\/CISIPortalWeb\/pub\/login.aspx?PT=GEN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #00b1af\">myCISI desktop log-in<\/span><\/a> to obtain information about your insurance coverage and account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You need to take your personal health insurance identification number with you to the doctor. The number is attached to an email from \u2018My CISI\u2019 which you received at orientation. Search your email for \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">enrollments@mycisi.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> If you cannot find the email you can:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b style=\"color: #ff0000\">Contact your insurance company by calling 203-399-5130 or emailing\u00a0<\/b><a style=\"color: #ff0000;font-weight: bold\" href=\"mailto:Claimhelp@culturalinsurance.com\">Claimhelp@culturalinsurance.com<\/a><b style=\"color: #ff0000\">. <\/b><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Please include your au pair ID number in the email along with your host family\u2019s name and address (If you call\u00a0you may wait awhile on hold with no music or sound, this is normal.)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prescription medicine: \u00a0you need to bring your prescription discount card to the pharmacy \u00a0(you can download it by visiting:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellrx.com\/rx-discount-card\/enroll\/\">\u00a0this website<\/a>)<\/span><\/span>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Present the pharmacist with your medical insurance identification number and prescription discount card when you fill your prescription.\u00a0 You will need to pay the full cost for the prescription medication at this time. Other services you are charged the full rate.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will need a letter that proves your participation in the au pair program and your income to qualify for a discount on the listed services only. To request this letter please email your community counselor. Please visit the individual link above to make an online appointment for one of these locations.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you think you need to go to the Emergency Room at the hospital it is best to be seen by a doctor at an Urgent Care Clinic first. If you go to the Emergency Room at the hospital without having gone to the Urgent Care Clinic first you may be charged an extra $500 by the insurance company if you are not experiencing a true emergency first. Of course, if you truly think you are having a life threatening emergency then go to the nearest hospital. Any hospital in the DC area will take your insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MEDICAL SPECIALIST <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you need to see a specialist please search this database for a doctor who takes your insurance: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aetna.com\/dsepublic\/#\/contentPage?page=providerSearchLanding&amp;site_id=passport\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">click here. \u00a0 (A<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">fter you enter your zip code, you will be asked to Select a Plan, c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hoose &#8220;Passport to Healthcare Primary PPO Network&#8221;)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Tell the provider that you have <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Aetna\u00a0Health Insurance\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">when you call to make your appointment or check-in at the office. Always confirm that they still take your insurance. Immediately call or email the insurance company if a listed provider states that they do not take your insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008080\">Other important information<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your health insurance does *not* cover preventive medicine like vaccines or physicals\/check-ups.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your insurance will not cover ice skating or skiing or other &#8220;extreme sports&#8221; unless you add sports insurance. You can add sports insurance any time during your year. To do so please contact Laura Blersch at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">lblersch@aupairinamerica.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to request information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do not panic if you receive an excessively expensive bill.\u00a0 It often takes a month for the doctor to correctly bill the health insurance.\u00a0 If you do receive an excessive bill please contact the CISI support at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(800) 303-8120, prompt 5 or 203-399-5130.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Take care of yourself.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t delay going to the doctor if you are sick.\u00a0 I know this is intimidating but you can figure it out.
