{"id":1117,"date":"2013-01-28T09:40:25","date_gmt":"2013-01-28T14:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/fcd\/2013\/01\/28\/winter-driving\/"},"modified":"2013-01-28T09:40:25","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T14:40:25","slug":"winter-driving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/fcd\/2013\/01\/28\/winter-driving\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter Driving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Winter Driving Tips<br \/>\n<\/strong>Always use extra caution when driving in cold, snowy conditions.\u00a0\u00a0 When the roads are wet and the temperature is freezing, there could be black ice.\u00a0\u00a0 There are some basic rules to remember to stay safe  \t\t\t\t\tin the car in difficult driving conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start early and take your time.<\/li>\n<li>Accelerate slowly, especially on hills<\/li>\n<li>Drive slowly to avoid having to stop while going up a hill,  \t\t\t\t\t\tas it will be hard to start again.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t make any sudden turns or stops.<\/li>\n<li>Be sure that the mirrors and windows are always free of snow  \t\t\t\t\t\tand ice.<\/li>\n<li>If you skid, try to steer in the direction the car is sliding  \t\t\t\t\t\tto regain control.<\/li>\n<li>The changes in temperature sometimes cause potholes in the streets.  \t\t\t\t\t\tIf you don&#8217;t see the pothole in time to steer around it, apply  \t\t\t\t\t\tthe brakes before hitting the pothole and release them just before  \t\t\t\t\t\tyou reach the pothole.
