Patty loved her host family and they loved her<span style=\"font-size: small\">.\u00a0 While the kids were in school, Patty wanted to be productive.<\/span> She volunteered at the local hospital, Southampton Fresh Air Camp<span style=\"font-size: small\"> <\/span>and a local newspaper.\u00a0 She also did the<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;font-size: small\"> volunteering to learn more about what she wanted to do with her future.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<div><span style=\"color: black\"><span style=\"background-color: transparent\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;font-size: small\">Patty Bak participated in an Au Pair in America program, called Global Awareness.\u00a0 She went into local classrooms and did age appropriate presentations on both of her home countries, she was born in Poland and then moved to Germany where she spent half her life.\u00a0 Here is a link to that program: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalawareness.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;font-size: small\">http:\/\/www.globalawareness.com\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;font-size: small\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times,serif;font-size: small\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1645\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2013\/04\/DSCN0793.JPG\" alt=\"DSCN0793\" width=\"269\" height=\"179\" \/>Patty went home after spending 1 year and 6 months as an au pair, and then an additional travel month where she traveled all over the USA.\u00a0 She got a Greyhound Bus pass for a month and went all over the USA.\u00a0 Then she went home and worked.
