{"id":2682,"date":"2013-09-16T09:24:42","date_gmt":"2013-09-16T13:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/2012\/09\/09\/september-cluster-meeting-prepares-au-pairs-for-their-year-ahead\/"},"modified":"2013-09-16T09:24:42","modified_gmt":"2013-09-16T13:24:42","slug":"september-cluster-meeting-prepares-au-pairs-for-their-year-ahead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/2013\/09\/16\/september-cluster-meeting-prepares-au-pairs-for-their-year-ahead\/","title":{"rendered":"September Cluster Meeting Prepares Au Pairs for their Year Ahead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1832\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2012\/09\/DSCN0063.JPG\" alt=\"DSCN0063\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>On Sunday, September 15th the Suffolk County Cluster of Au Pair in America<\/strong> gathered at their Community Counselor&#8217;s home for a very important meeting.\u00a0 September is the month Americans start their school and work year, au pairs get back to routine schedules with their host children.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The largest arrival months for Au Pairs are the summer months, so the September meeting is the first cluster meeting for many of them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">As the au pairs arrived, they heading out to the patio for an art project.\u00a0 Each au pair decorated a peace ornament that will be displayed in December on a holiday tree in Stony Brook Village&#8217;s Promenade of trees.\u00a0 It was a fun, bonding, creative activity the au pairs enjoyed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1834\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2012\/09\/DSCN0073-263x300.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN0073\" width=\"184\" height=\"210\" \/>Cindy Garruba, Suffolk County APIA Community Counselor<\/strong>, then led the au pairs in a discussion of important &#8220;Back to School &amp; Routine&#8221; information.\u00a0\u00a0 The discussion then moved on to distracted driving and safe driving tips for the au pairs, most of whom drive their host children to activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1836\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2012\/09\/DSCN0074-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN0074\" width=\"210\" height=\"157\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1837\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2012\/09\/DSCN0076.JPG\" alt=\"DSCN0076\" width=\"242\" height=\"161\" \/>Every au pair shared where they are from, where they live now, how long they have been in the USA, the ages of their host children and something special about themselves. We said hello to newly arrived au pairs and bid farewell to those leaving the cluster.\u00a0 It is a important that each young woman in the cluster has a peer group to share the year with in America.\u00a0 Cluster meetings introduces the young women to each other and builds the bond between them.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1838\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2012\/09\/DSCN0065.JPG\" alt=\"DSCN0065\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1839\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2012\/09\/DSCN0071.JPG\" alt=\"DSCN0071\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" \/>Cluster meetings are an important part of the Au Pair in America experience<\/strong>.\u00a0 Every quarter a meeting\u00a0features childcare and safety information.\u00a0 They give the au pairs an opportunity to form friendships and spend time together.
