Below is a list of some more helpful things to keep in the car.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommended items to have in the car in case of emergency<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cell phone car charger<\/li>\n<li>Jumper Cables (be sure you know how to use them)<\/li>\n<li>Flashlight and extra batteries<\/li>\n<li>Flares &amp; Reflective triangles<\/li>\n<li>Bag of sand or kitty litter (to help if stuck in ice, snow)<\/li>\n<li>Small shovel, snow brush and ice scraper<\/li>\n<li>Extra windshield solvent<\/li>\n<li>Blankets and extra clothing<\/li>\n<li>Nonperishable food items and water (e.g.. snack bars)<\/li>\n<li>List of emergency telephone numbers on a card in the glove compartment<\/li>\n<li>Auto club card (AAA or roadside assistance)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/mdf\/2013\/02\/07\/what-to-keep-in-the-car-glove-box\/\">Here<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is another post with a\u00a0list of what to keep in the car glove box.<\/p>\n<p>It is always a good idea to keep\u00a0the gas tank at least half full\u00a0at all times, especially in the winter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Photo: Bart Everson<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What should you have in the trunk of your car in case of an emergency?
