Others give\u00a0their au pair a prepaid debit card or transfer money using an app like Venmo or Zelle for this purpose. Below\u00a0are some suggestions for avoiding problems with expenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Host Families<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u2019s important to be clear about how long this money should last and what types of expenses are approved.<\/li>\n<li>Let the au pair know whether or not you expect receipts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Au Pairs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only spend the money on approved expenses.<\/li>\n<li>If it is something you are not sure about, ask first.<\/li>\n<li>Put your receipts in the cookie jar in place of the money to avoid any confusion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transportation Costs\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Host families are responsible for the au pair\u2019s transportation costs:\u00a0to and from classes, cluster meetings and when\u00a0driving the kids.
