Driving in the snow and ice can be a challenge even for experienced drivers. If you don\u2019t have to\u00a0go out in bad weather, stay home. If you do have to go out, here are some tips. More information can be found on\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/exchange.aaa.com\/safety\/roadway-safety\/winter-driving-tips\/#.WHhIL7HMxEI\">AAA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"_zXc\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Top 10 Winter Driving Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bulky coats and snowsuits should not be worn underneath the harness (straps) of a car seat. Check out information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthychildren.org\/English\/safety-prevention\/on-the-go\/Pages\/Winter-Car-Seat-Safety-Tips.aspx\">here<\/a> and discuss with your host parents.<\/li>\n<li>Keep cold-weather supplies in your car, such as a blanket, a flashlight, window ice scraper, snacks and water.<\/li>\n<li>Make certain your tires are properly inflated and have plenty of tread.<\/li>\n<li>Keep at least half a tank of fuel in your vehicle at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Never warm up a vehicle in an enclosed area, such as a garage.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid sudden moves, accelerate and decelerate slowly.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t stop going up a hill.<\/li>\n<li>Increase the following distance between you and the car ahead of you.<\/li>\n<li>Know your brakes.
