You can watch the webinar recording below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Webinar: Prevention of Drowning &amp; Family Water Safety ft. Colin&#039;s Hope\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IgQZ9Pd7mpc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #5cabbf;\">When multiple adults are with children at the beach or pool, it is important to designate a specific person to watch the children. <\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #5cabbf;\">If that designated adult must leave the beach\/pool area, they should tell another adult so that person can take over supervising children. <\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #5cabbf;\">Never assume that someone else is watching the children.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h2>More Water Safety Tips<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Never<\/strong> leave a child unattended near water.<\/li>\n<li>Drowning is silent; keep your eyes on the children at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Never be more than an arm\u2019s length away if in the pool with a young child.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the fence around the pool is closed properly.<\/li>\n<li>If you have an above-ground pool, remove the ladder when not in use.<\/li>\n<li>Swim at the beach or lake only when a lifeguard is on duty.<\/li>\n<li>Teach young children to swim and consider taking a water safety course for caregivers.<\/li>\n<li>If boating, always wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a phone close by in case there is an emergency, but stay off your cell phone to avoid distractions.<\/li>\n<li>If you leave the area for any reason, the kids go with you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is a video with info on how to spot when someone is in trouble in the water.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/beNheoRRdKk?feature=oembed\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>CONTEST:<\/strong><\/span> <strong><em>What is your favorite place to enjoy the water: the beach or the pool?<\/em> <\/strong>The first au pair in our cluster to message Christine or Lisa with their answer to this question will win a $10 Target gift card.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Photo: Au Pair in America<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When hot summer weather hits, the pool and beaches are popular places to cool off.
