{"id":992,"date":"2010-07-14T09:55:37","date_gmt":"2010-07-14T13:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/mdf\/?p=992"},"modified":"2010-07-14T09:55:37","modified_gmt":"2010-07-14T13:55:37","slug":"life-in-america-candy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/mdf\/2010\/07\/14\/life-in-america-candy\/","title":{"rendered":"Life in America &#8211; Candy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the first installment of a new series of posts asking au pairs about their impressions of life in America.\u00a0 The first au pair to take part is WenWen (nickname Candy) from China.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<div style=\"width: 503px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"   \" src=\"http:\/\/gi90.photobucket.com\/groups\/k241\/HRK5K1A3T2\/Desktop.jpg\" alt=\"Candy visiting Great Falls Park in Virginia\" width=\"493\" height=\"277\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Candy visiting Great Falls Park in Virginia<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>5 Things that Surprised You Most About Life in the U.S.<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Good protection on nature environment (such as trees, parks etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Open minded<\/li>\n<li>Some things are expensive.\n<ul>\n<li>College and university tuition is really, really high, not only for international students, but for U.S citizens who are not in the same state as the college need to pay out-of-state fee.<\/li>\n<li>Need to pay for everything, even prescription, and too expensive.<\/li>\n<li>Mostly, need to pay tax for everything.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Good education for children with special needs in school.
