{"id":362,"date":"2013-02-13T11:36:59","date_gmt":"2013-02-13T16:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/phs\/?p=179"},"modified":"2013-02-13T11:36:59","modified_gmt":"2013-02-13T16:36:59","slug":"valentines-day-february-14th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/phs\/2013\/02\/13\/valentines-day-february-14th\/","title":{"rendered":"Valentines Day-February 14th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2011\/02\/Globe-Heart-300x297.jpg\" alt=\"Globe Heart\" width=\"300\" height=\"297\" \/><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Valentine\u2019s Day is February 14th!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Au Pairs give loving care to their host families every day<strong>.\u00a0 Au Pair in America has provided 27 years\u00a0as the world\u2019s most\u00a0experienced intercultural \u00a0childcare program. <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Au pairs become full-fledged family members, sharing a cultural  exchange experience that often leads to a lasting relationship with the  host family.<\/p>\n<p>Au Pairs come to the USA for cultural exchange and to provide  childcare to busy families.\u00a0 They stay for one year and then have the  option to extend for a second year.\u00a0 Au Pairs are 18 to 26 years old  when they arrive in the USA.\u00a0 Please check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aupairinamerica.com\">www.aupairinamerica.com<\/a> for more information!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\"> <\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Au Pairs will be making Valentine cards with their host children.\u00a0 Here\u2019s how:<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What you\u2019ll need:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>8.5 x 11 construction paper or card stock in various colors and\/or patterns <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2011\/02\/easy-homemade-valentines-kaboose-craft-photo-350-fs-IMG_9049_rdax_65-300x218.jpg\" alt=\"easy-homemade-valentines-kaboose-craft-photo-350-fs-IMG_9049_rdax_65\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Valentine and\/or heart stickers<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Pinking shears (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Glue stick or white craft or school glue<\/li>\n<li>Glitter (pink, red, white)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to make it:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Begin by cutting a piece of construction paper or card stock into four equal pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Fold quartered paper in half to make a card.<\/li>\n<li>For the easiest version, appropriate for preschoolers, use stickers  to decorate or cut out hearts from a different color of construction  paper or card stock to glue onto your cards. Experiment with different  patterns, florals look great contrasted with stripes on a solid  background.<\/li>\n<li>Younger children love glitter! Use a bottle of glue to \u201cdraw\u201d on a  heart or phrase (such as \u201cBe Mine\u201d). Sprinkle glue generously with pink,  red or white glitter and let dry over night. Tap off excess glitter  when completely dry.<\/li>\n<li>For the older set, let them use pinking sheers to cut out heart  shapes and glue onto cards. Again, use contrasting patterns and colors  to create a charming design.<\/li>\n<li>Once glue is dry, cards may curl up a little. Place cards between  the pages of a heavy cookbook or phone book and leave over night.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.aupairinamerica.com\/lie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2011\/02\/Valentines-Day-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"Valentine's Day\" width=\"530\" height=\"236\" \/><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valentine\u2019s Day is February 14th!
