There are so many new faces in the cluster.\u00a0 You must have heard \u201cmake this the best year ever\u201d, but what does it really mean?\u00a0 Here is a list of suggestions I gathered from my former au pairs.\u00a0 They all agree that the year goes by really fast and despite having some bad days, they do miss being an au pair.\u00a0 When I asked them what suggestions they wanted to share, here is what they told me:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 Take good care of the kids (this really was their first response!)<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 Listen and respect your host family, be honest about your mistakes, don\u2019t try to hide them\u2026.it will only make things worse.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 Travel as soon as you can, don\u2019t procrastinate.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0 Meet new people, try not to hang out with only au pairs from your country<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0 Enjoy every moment<\/p>\n
6.\u00a0 Be open-minded, don\u2019t compare<\/p>\n
7.\u00a0 Don\u2019t spend all your money on the stuff you don\u2019t need.\u00a0 It\u2019s not easy to take it home<\/p>\n
