Did you know that each snowflake is unique?<\/p>\n<p>Make snowflakes with your host children:<\/p>\n<div id=\"pageheader\">\n<h1>How to Make Six-Pointed Paper Snowflakes<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"nav\">\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/\">http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/ <\/a><\/div>\n<h2>Step 1<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step1.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 1 Illustration\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"218\" height=\"120\" align=\"right\" \/>Start  with an 8.5&#8243;\u00a0x\u00a011&#8243; sheet of paper.  Fold one corner of the piece of  paper down.  Cut off the bottom portion to make a triangle.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step2.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 2 Illustration\" hspace=\"30\" width=\"118\" height=\"67\" align=\"right\" \/>Temporarily  bring the two corners of the base of the triangle together to find the  center point of the longest side. Make a small crease at the center  point.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step3.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 3 Illustration\" hspace=\"15\" width=\"223\" height=\"69\" align=\"right\" \/>We&#8217;re  now going to use the center point identified in Step 2 to divide the  triangle into three equal parts. Fold the right corner in at a 60\u00b0  angle. (Use a protractor to help you.) Then fold the left corner in back  at a 60\u00b0 angle.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step4.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 4 Illustration\" hspace=\"35\" width=\"63\" height=\"63\" align=\"right\" \/>Your paper should look like the illustration at right.  Now fold the paper in half as shown.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 5<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step5.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 5 Illustration\" hspace=\"35\" width=\"72\" height=\"69\" align=\"right\" \/>Cut off the upper portion along the horizontal line.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 6<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step6.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 6 Illustration\" hspace=\"15\" width=\"108\" height=\"123\" align=\"right\" \/>This  triangle will be 1\/12th of your snowflake.  Use a pencil to draw a  design on the triangle.  The unopened side will be the backbone of the  snowflake.  Do not draw any lines that cut through the triangle.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 7<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step7.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 7 Illustration\" hspace=\"15\" width=\"108\" height=\"123\" align=\"right\" \/>Use a pair of scissors to carefully cut away the unwanted area.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 8<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowflakes.info\/images\/step8.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Step 8 Illustration\" hspace=\"30\" width=\"69\" height=\"136\" align=\"right\" \/>Carefully unfold your snowflake and flatten it out with your fingers.  Voil\u00e0!<\/p>\n<p>Now experiment with different designs and see what you come up with.
