Add cider, 1\/2 of the sugar, \u00a0and cook over high heat for 20 minutes. Stir. Run the mixture through a blender or food processor. Return to the pot, add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Then\u00a0 put the heat down to low, uncover and stir for about 15 minutes more.
