Your Local Community Counselor

Taken before "selfie" was added to the dictionary!

Hi … My name is Lynnette Melbostad and I have been an Au Pair in America Community Counselor in the Phoenix area since 2012.  My service area is simple — if you are anywhere near or around Phoenix, I’m your gal!

My family was blessed to have had an au pair (Anne-from France) live with us when our two boys were small.  Years later, my boys are going off to college, but we are still in touch with Anne, and watching on Facebook as her 2 boys grow up.  When I started working at Au Pair in America my goal was to just “fill my free time” between raising our boys and working as a Regional Sales Director in the senior living industry.  It’s become so much more than that for me!

I love meeting these young women from all over the world.  Their energy to embrace new experiences and their tireless drive to “see everything” is what makes this job so enjoyable. I embrace the challenge of guiding Au Pairs through life lessons as many of them are  experiencing their first extended period of time away from home.  Every day is different — whether they want help finding an inexpensive restaurant, suggestions for fun outdoor activities to do with their host children, or guidance on how to balance a job with the excitement of sightseeing — I’m here.

Equally enjoyable for me is getting to know the host families.  Our cluster is fortunate to have a nice mix of long-time host families and brand new families.  So, whether they need suggestions on how to communicate the family schedule, best practices for auto use, or getting the most out of this cultural exchange, I’m here for that too!

Please email me at: LMelbostad@aupairinamerica.com if you have any questions.

Cheers!  Lynnette
