Au Pair in America has surveyed a large sampling of former host children asking them many questions about the impact that having an au pair has had on their lives. One of the things we asked about is what their friendships now, if any, are like with their former au pairs. To our pleasant surprise, 95% of respondents said they still have contact with some of their former au pairs. 78% of respondents said that one or more of their au pairs have traveled back to the U.S. to visit them. Jutta, one of our host children respondents said her former au pair Dorothy is “an older sister and a life-long friend”.   🙂
