Fairs and Festivals in Rhode Island

Fall is one of my favorite times of year here in New England. One reason is that there’s so much to do with all these great festivals.Fairs and Festivals to Look Forward to in Rhode Island!

1.  Rhythm and Roots Festival – September 4-6, 2015.  A musical extravaganza with local art, food and so much more. Ninigret Park, Charlestown.

2.  Rhode Island Seafood Festival – September 12-13, 2015.  Come and enjoy the bounties of the sea at one of RI’s premiere food festivals!  India Point Park in Providence.

3.  Slater Park Fall Festival – Pawtucket, RI – September 12-13, 2015. This festival will feature over 100 art and craft vendors,  fireworks, activities at Daggett Farm, Looff Carousel,  and so much more! Come and enjoy the ‘open air market’ of food trucks, farmers, music, exhibitions and more.

  1. FallFest–  Misquamicut State Beach on September 18-20.  Amusements, food vendors, music, rides, games and so much more!
  2.  Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival – September 25-27, 2015 in Newport!
  3.  Newport International Boat Show – Sept 17-20.  13 acres of waterfront in Newport featuring all types of boats!
  4.  Smith’s Castle Colonial Harvest Festival – Sept 26-27 in North Kingstown…taste seasonal treats and have a look at Colonial life.
  5.  Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular– October 1st-November 1st at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. Come and enjoy over 5,000 illuminated pumpkins.  Over 100 of them will be incredible displays of art based on the theme “The People’s Choice”.
  6.  Norman Bird Sanctuary Harvest Fair – October 3-4 in Middletown.  This fall fair will offer games,  The “Mabel Express” Barrel Train, Monkey Bridge, Mud Pit,  and Children’s crafts tent, and more.
  7.  Providence Honk FestPronk! Fest- October 12, 2015 in Providence.  A street celebration of music and life!
  8. Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival – Oct 17-18 in Newport.  Coastal Living Magazine call this one of the top ten fall festivals on the coast!  There will be great food, music and kids activities.
  9.  International Oktoberfest – October 17-18 at India Point Park.

Au Pair In America Offers Free Information Sessions on Affordable Child Care

Free, no obligation information sessions are being offered to Rhode Island parents to provide information and to answer questions that they may have about hosting an au pair. Program costs will be discussed and compared with other child care options, with emphasis on the benefits and cost-effectiveness of the au pair program.
