For our meeting this month we met bright and early for some Yoga followed by a well deserved iced coffee or tea… it was really hot, but everyone had a great time. Namaste!

Self Defense Class
Last night our Au Pairs were able to go to the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Training Academy for a self defense class with a great Officer.
The program was based on realistic, common sense, safety precautions/practices, and strategies we can implement to stay safe and avoid confrontations. The officer highlighted day to day activities, and some simple precautions we can take to minimize being identified as a potential target.
We also discussed strategies and possible options (both verbal and physical) to reduce the possibility of injury in the event of a physical confrontation.
Everyone had a great time and learned many new tricks to stay safe!
Annual Holiday Party
This week we all met for our Annual Au Pair Holiday Party. Every au pair was asked to bring a favorite holiday dish that is served in her country.
We all had a great time and got to try many different treats from all around the world.
Pie Tasting
To prepare for Thanksgiving au pairs for to trying all of the American pies that might be put in front of them on that day! Good to know ahead of time if you like Pumpkin Pie!!
Halloween Breakfast
We all had a great time meeting for a Halloween Breakfast. Many au pairs came with their host kids who were dressed up. Everybody had a great time!
DC Region of Au Pair in America – Scavenger Hunt at the National Zoo on Sunday, October 18, 2015
Approximately 300 Au Pairs from all around the DC area and their 20 Community Counselors gathered at the National Zoo early Sunday to participate in our DC Regional Scavenger Hunt at the National Zoo!
It was an incredible day! Sun was shining, temperatures were great, the zoo was decorated for Halloween…

Sunday Brunch at Great Falls Park
We all had a great time for our cluster meeting today at Great Falls Park. The weather was beautiful and we were all able to relax and enjoy good food and great company.
Annual Au Pair Birthday Party
Cake, ice cream, presents, and celebrations! Another great Cluster Meeting where we celebrated everyone’s birthday. We all had so much fun and just didn’t want it to end 🙂

we met at Santinis for a Pizza Party! We shared pizzas and stories about what brought us to the US with Au Pair in America and how our year began.

For our cluster meeting this month we had Ice Cream Sundaes on Sunday!
Everybody got to make their own Sundae and enjoy great conversations about their time in the US.
