We are excited to announce the 2015 Au Pair Community Service Award Contest!
We know that many of you have made great strides to learn about American culture and make a difference in your community. We want to hear all about it! We are looking for Au Pair in America au pairs that have gone above and beyond in the last year to volunteer and have a real impact on their community.
How to Qualify
Candidates for the Au Pair Community Service Award will have participated in community service activity in their area within the past year. Community Service qualifies as an activity or activities that would not normally be paid and must be completed under the direction of a representative in an organization. Au pairs cannot be paid for any volunteer work and time must be verifiable by the organization. Your volunteer work can be a single activity or a series of events and you can be a participant and/or an organizer of an event/events.
How to Enter
To enter this contest, please send an email to apserviceawards@aifs.com with the following information:
- Any photos, video links and/or social media posts related to your volunteer efforts
- Your name, the state you live in and your au pair ID
- The names of the organizations where you have volunteered and a brief description of what you did as a volunteer
- Write a short essay (maximum 500 words) describing your volunteer experience. You may want to consider some of these questions:
What are some of your most memorable moments? What new things have you learned about American life and culture from volunteering? Why is volunteering important to you?
Please be prepared to submit verification from a representative at the organization/organizations with which you volunteered, upon request.
Deadline
All entries must be submitted by April 30th, 2015 to qualify for the contest. We look forward to reading about all the wonderful things you have done to improve your community!
Prize
All winning entries will receive Au Pair in America recognition and press recognition, as well as awards for their efforts and achievements.
National Winners
1st Place will receive a $500 Amazon gift card
2nd Place will receive a $250 Amazon gift card
3rd Place will receive a $150 Amazon gift card
State Winners
Each state winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card
