Our Community Counselors do such a great job planning activities and events for au pairs and families to meet up and get involved in their local communities. The following details are courtesy of Roberta Dittoe about a volunteer service event in Cincinnati, Ohio:
Au pairs, host families and Community Counselors joined forces for a fun day spent working together to make a difference.
This community outreach event was held at Matthew 25 Ministries, headquartered in Cincinnati. The organization collects excess products from corporations, manufacturers and the general public to distribute humanitarian aid and disaster relief for people locally, across the country and internationally. They recycle everything to transform what might otherwise have become waste into vital resources for those in need.
Several Au Pair in America host families and au pairs joined their Community Counselors to help out. They worked together packing supplies, toiletries and items for shipments that will be distributed to areas in need of disaster relief.
What a nice way to spend the day giving back to others. Thank you to our Cincinnati Community Counselors, au pairs and host families that participated — and special thanks to their awesome kids that came along and helped, too!
