Our au pair program has received widespread success and recognition for not only providing families with reliable childcare, but also building lifelong connections for all involved. One such example is the Alvarez Family from Florida who recently shared the positive impact that Josefin, their au pair from Sweden, has made on their lives.
Just Like Family
At Au Pair in America, we take pride in the fact that our carefully screened and trained au pairs become a trusted member of your family.
“From the start, Josefin became part of our small family. She spends a lot of her free time with us, going to parks, restaurants, the beach, absorbing American culture, or even just watching television together, and we enjoy her doing so.”
Bonding With the Children
Our responsible yet fun-loving au pairs have over 200 hours of documented childcare experience. They love spending time with children, and they often take on the role of an older sibling.
“Josefin plays with our daughter so well. Interactive play is truly interactive. They go on so many adventures together and Bianca truly misses Josefin when she is away exploring the United States. Josefin really pays attention to Bianca, attends all her piano recitals, makes videos with her, watches her at gymnastics and horseback riding, is simply present.
What really made my heart full was when at Bianca’s ninth birthday party one of Bianca’s friends asked her who Josefin was and she answered without hesitation, ‘My sister!’”
Cultural Exchange
With Au Pair in America, you don’t just get top-notch childcare, you also get a taste of traditions and customs that are different from yours, thereby gaining a global perspective without leaving your home. Cultural enrichment is at the core of our au pair program, and when families embrace it the way Josefin and the Alvarez family has, it truly makes us happy.
“We’ve had Au Pairs from four other countries, but we have learned about Sweden and its customs the most. It all started with a Fika – The Swedish Way cookbook that Josefin brought as a gift for us. We have been going through it making delicious buns and cakes. We officially adopted Kanelbullens Dag (Swedish Cinnamon Bun Day), October 4, as one of our favorite holidays. We now also celebrate Lucia on December 13 by making special saffron buns. Josefin’s mom even sent us a special Swedish crispy waffle maker, so we could celebrate Waffle Day on March 25.”
Meaningful Connections
At Au Pair in America, we go the extra mile to make sure your family has a fulfilling experience, one that’s built on mutual trust and affection.
“Josefin is so easy to love and I hope that my daughter is as helpful and kind when she grows up.”
Our goal is to help families find the right au pair that meets their unique needs, creating intercultural relationships like the one between Josefin and the Alvarez family. Their story truly captures the heart and spirit of our au pair program.
