This January we met for a multi-cluster snowtubing event at Nashoba Valley Snowtubing Park. Over 50 au pairs attended this annual event and had a lot of fun exploring this activity.
Counselors prepared hot chocolate and snacks that waited for au pairs after they came in from tubing the slopes to warm up.

This month, our au pair cluster joined 4 other clusters for snowtubing at Nashoba Valley. The temperatures were not too frigid and au pairs were able to stay outside for much of the two hours we were there.
We also held a sit-down meeting during a break, where we enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks. We also introduced new au pair Annabella and said good-bye to Lara who went home to Germany. As always, our meeting gave my au pairs a chance to make more connections and discuss au pair related topics.

We said good-bye to Alita and Aurore who are finished with their au pair year. We welcomed new au pair Vanessa to our group.

For our cluster meeting this month, we joined 4 other Boston area au pair clusters for snowtubing at Nashoba Valley. Approximately 50 au pairs hit the slopes in pleasant temperatures.
This month we said good-bye to Deborah and to Mayela, and we welcomed Vanessa and Jana. We took some time in the lodge to connect before heading out and enjoyed refreshments.

As the temperatures were falling toward the single digits, my au pairs braved the weather last Wednesday night and headed West to the Nashoba Valley Snowtubing Park. We met five other Boston area au pair groups and were able to take advantage of the group rate. Always a good thing for my au pairs to save money!
We gathered at the cottage, which was was nice and warm, and au pairs kept coming in to warm up with hot chocolate and cookies.
We welcomed Malin and Luisa, who arrived this month, into our group. They easily made connections to other au pairs and already know some from their first three days of orientation in Connecticut.
Nashoba Valley Snowtubing
This month, our au pair cluster met 3 others for snowtubing at Nashoba Valley. Some au pairs had never experienced snow and were excited to participate.
With lots of man-made snow and colder temperatures, the conditions for snowtubing were excellent: the slopes were icy and fast and au pairs flew down the hill! Lots of excited screams!

Counselors brought a cake and hot chocolate which were welcome by au pairs who came in from the cold.

This January, our cluster met other Boston area au pairs to go night time snowtubing in Nashoba Valley. We have au pairs that come from countries that usually don’t get snow and many of them are excited to participate in winter activities. After enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and treats, au pairs braved the elements and headed for the slopes.

Bettina's Au Pairs enjoy the tubing
The cold weather did not deter over 60 au pairs from having fun going snowtubing at Nashoba Valley this week. Bundled up and nourished by hot chocolate provided by their counselors, they were well-prepared. Bettina’s au pair group joined other local Au Pair in America groups for their January meeting. These monthly meetings, organized by the community counselors, give au pairs another social networking opportunity, especially important in the winter months which can be isolating.
