Travel Validation Information

This will be changing as we move to a new system from the DS-2019, but for now this is what we have.

Travel Validation Request Form (For Au Pairs Traveling Outside the U.S.)
If you are planning international travel during your program, you must request a Travel Validation Signature on your DS-2019 form.
This signature confirms you are in good standing with the program, but it is not permission to travel. Re-entry to the U.S. is always at the discretion of U.S. border officers.

Before You Request:
• Do not plan to travel outside the U.S. during your Travel Month.
• Do not travel within 30 days of your J-1 visa expiration – re-entry may be denied.
• If your J-1 visa is expired, check the Automatic Revalidation document.
• You do not need to bring this form with you while traveling – it’s only for requesting a travel signature with APIA.

How to Request a Travel Signature
Option 1: By Email (Recommended)
• Email a PDF copy (no photos or JPEGs) of this completed form and your DS-2019 form to:
travelvalidation@aifs.com

Option 2: By Mail
