Taxes…. Due April 15th!
At our March cluster meeting we discussed taxes– we filled out the forms and calculated what might be due. Remember, if you owe money to the US Government for taxes, it must be paid before April 15, 2016 or you will owe penalty fees. It’s a good idea to calculate whether you owe taxes TODAY. This way, you will have time to save the money you owe before the due date.
Moves Those Clocks — It’s Time to Spring Forward!
Sunday at midnight starts the period know as Daylight Savings Time. Daylight Savings Time was started many years ago. The idea was to make better use of the daylight hours by shifting the sunrise one hour later in the morning and having the sun set one hour later in the evening — thus the expression “spring forward”. Before you go to bed on Saturday night, make sure you move your clocks and watches one hour head so you don’t miss anything you have scheduled the next day.
Presidents Day is February 15
School is probably closed today! President’s Day is a Federal holiday created to commemorate the births of former Presidents George Washington (Feb. 22) and Abraham Lincoln (Feb. 12). Throughout America, Presidents’ Day is observed by big sales in the stores, closed schools and banks and no mail delivery.
Things to do with children: The United States has had more than 40 presidents. How many can the children name? Who has been president during their lifetime? Take a look at American coins and bills; who are the Presidents pictured on each coin and bill?

Happy Valentines Day!
Valentine’s Day is a time of love, friendship, giving, and caring. Americans use Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to tell friends and family how much they care. Children usually exchange cards at school. Parents sometimes give their children small gifts or chocolate. Why not tell your host family how much you care and appreciate them on Valentines Day?
