At a recent gathering in Glen Ridge, Au Pair in America Au Pairs learned the role of volunteerism in American culture AND helped feed the homeless. Working together, these young visitors from around the world made over 225 brown bag lunches for the clients of St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark. The project enabled them to “give back” to the community they currently call home.

National Community Service Month
April is National Community Service Month. Au Pairs in the West Orange, Verona, Glen Ridge, Essex Fells, Little Falls and Nutley area contributed by making 240 brown bag lunches for St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark. Every community needs volunteers. Everyone can make a difference. Next time you are at the park or walking in the neighborhood, bring a garbage bag and a pair of gloves and pick up any trash you find while there.
Community Service featured at April Cluster Meeting
Au Pairs from Glen Ridge, West Orange, Essex Fells and Montclair joined forces the April Cluster Meeting and performed a meaningful community service project. 30 hard working au pairs made over 240 brown bag lunches for the clients of St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark. It took alot of teamwork to assemble the lunches, but these young women were happy to give back to the less fortune of Essex County.

With April being Community Service Month in the US, the April Cluster Meeting was dedicated to performing a community service project. Au pairs from the Glen Ridge/West Orange/Verona/Essex Fells worked together with au pairs from Montclair to prepare over 230 bag lunches for St. Johns Soup Kitchen, located in Newark, NJ. Through this work, the girls not only learned the meaning of community service in the US, but also were able to give back to the less fortunate of their temporary home.
