As the mother of two boys under the age of four, I recognize and understand the need for quality, dependable child care. It has been an amazing experience to join Au Pair in America and to see firsthand how many families enjoy and benefit from au pair child care.
I truly enjoy my job as a Community Counselor! It has been a wonderful experience to work with young women who are excited about being in a new country and truly enjoy their work with kids. The cultural exchange aspect of this program is unique as well! In St. Louis alone we have au pairs from Thailand, Spain, Germany, Colombia, Panama, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico; it really is a diverse group. Everyone benefits (the au pairs, the host families, and even myself) from the opportunity to learn from and interact with someone from another country.
As the Community Counselor for the St. Louis area, my role entails:
- Providing support and assistance for host families and au pairs
- Monitoring the educational progress for the au pairs
- Answering questions about the program for prospective families
- Organizing fun, monthly cluster meetings and activities for the au pairs
- Facilitating educational training sessions for the au pairs
- Regular updates and communications for both host families and au pairs
