Community Counselor Beverly R. in Connecticut recently shared details about a fun holiday party held at the Weston Field Club for her au pair cluster. Beverly invited fellow Community Counselor Kate Z. and her neighboring group of au pairs to attend as well. Together, everyone celebrated the holiday season and enjoyed each other’s company. As a gift, Beverly and Kate wrapped up cute luggage tags for each of the au pairs in attendance.
Beverly also shared that she and a group of seven au pairs recently volunteered at their local senior center to share holiday cheer and give back to the community. Beverly and the au pairs had fun together as they served a festive lunch, and the seniors enjoyed the international presence and youthful energy of the group.
Volunteering during the holidays can be a very fun and meaningful way to get involved in the local community. While many of us have so much, others long for things like companionship, enough to eat and presents to share in the season of giving. Financial and gift donations are great ways to help others, but donating time and energy can also go a long way to bringing hope and cheer to others in need.
Thank you to everyone in our Au Pair in America family that gives in some way to share holiday cheer in their home and host communities.
