APIA NYC SCAVENGER HUNT

Sunday October 21 the New York and Connecticut Au Pair in America Community Counselors hosted a NYC Scavenger Hunt for 250 au pairs!

Everyone met on the steps of the main NYC Library for the send off. They spent about 3 hours searching for the items on the list, snapping pictures of themselves in places all over the City. Each team had 6 au pairs.

When they returned to the library, the Counselors were ready with candy bars for each of them, raffle tickets for those wearing their APIA T-Shirts, and scoring teams to tally their lists.

The top 3 teams won cash prizes donated by the Counselors. Everyone had fun and learned a lot about NYC. We hope they return often to NYC to learn more about this great City.

Young women from countries all around the world come to the USA as au pairs with Au Pair in America every year. They live with a host family, take care of children up to 45 hours a week, learn our culture and share theirs with us.

Annual NYC Scavenger Hunt

250 Au Pair in America Au Pairs!

On Sunday October 23rd, 20 Au Pair in America clusters gathered in NYC for the Annual APIA Scavenger Hunt. Teams left from the NYC Library steps and searched for 3 hours!

When the teams arrived back they were given a candy bar and their points for arrival time. Community Counselors from APIA checked their lists for items found.

4 winning teams were awarded. Points were awarded for return time, and the most items found. Everyone had fun!

Annual Au Pair in America NYC Scavenger Hunt

A wonderful day was spent in NYC with over 200 au pairs from Au Pair in America. All of these au pairs live on Long Island, NYC, Westchester or Connecticut. 20 Community Counselors from APIA organized the event and met the au pairs on the steps of the main NYC library. They had a list of 30 items to find! 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prize certificates and prizes were awarded. 6 au pairs won raffles prizes for wearing their APIA t-shirt.

This activity is a lot of fun for everyone involved. The au pairs learn a lot about NYC and many return to take a closer look at the items on the list in future visits to NYC. APIA Community Counselors arrange monthly meetings for their cluster of au pairs. Some are educational meetings and some are cultural activities. All these meetings foster friendships between au pairs and give them opportunities to learn more about the communities within in which they reside with host families.
