Au Pair in America Sponsored: MyGym Summerlin’s Valentine’s Day Prom

This past Saturday, February 14, Au Pair in America had the absolute pleasure of joining the festivities at MyGym Summerlin for their Valentine’s Day Prom. From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the gym was transformed into a heart-filled celebration of friendship and community.

To add a little extra sparkle to the party, Au Pair in America was proud to sponsor the incredibly talented Snazzy Face Painting.

If you weren’t there, you missed out on seeing some serious artistry! Whether it was a shimmering butterfly, a fierce superhero, or—fittingly—plenty of glittery hearts, Alysse from Snazzy Face Painting turned every child’s face into a walking work of art. The line was buzzing with excitement, and seeing the kids check out their new looks in the mirror was easily the highlight of our day.

Why We Love MyGym Summerlin

At Au Pair in America, our mission is all about cultural exchange and community. Partnering with MyGym Summerlin feels like a natural fit because they create a space where families come together to play, grow, and make memories.

Annual Host Family Day: February 22, 2026 3pm-5pm

Bringing the world to your backyard (or, in this case, the library) just got a whole lot easier. If you’ve ever been curious about how cultural exchange can transform your home life, mark your calendars for a special afternoon in the heart of Las Vegas.

A World of Culture: Au Pair in America Host Family Day

On Sunday, February 22, 2026, the local Las Vegas Au Pair in America community is hosting a vibrant Presentation of Culture. This isn’t just a meeting; it’s a celebration of the unique traditions, flavors, and stories that au pairs bring from across the globe to our desert oasis.

Whether you are currently hosting an au pair or are simply curious about how the program works, this event is designed to give you a front-row seat to the “cultural” part of cultural exchange.

Event Details

  • When: February 22, 2026 | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Where: Clark County Library (1401 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119)
  • Cost: FREE and open to the community
  • RSVP

What to Expect

The highlight of the afternoon will be the Culture Presentations. Au pairs living right here in Las Vegas will showcase their home countries through music, traditional dress, and personal stories. It’s a fantastic way for kids and adults alike to learn about life in Brazil, Germany, South Africa, or Uganda without ever leaving Flamingo Road.

Win Big: Raffle Prizes!

We know our host families work hard to create a welcoming environment for their au pairs, and we want to show some appreciation! We will be holding a raffle with exciting prizes for:

  • Current Host Families: A “thank you” for your commitment to global friendship.
  • “To-Be-Matched” Families: If you are in the process of finding your perfect au pair or are just starting your application, you’re eligible too!

Why Attend?

If you’ve been looking for flexible, live-in childcare with a “big sister” or “big brother” feel, this is the perfect low-pressure environment to:

  1. Meet Local Families: Chat with Las Vegas parents who are currently in the program.
  2. Talk to Counselors: Get your questions answered about the matching process and program requirements.
  3. Experience the Impact: See firsthand the bond between au pairs and their host families.

Sponsoring events like these allows our local au pairs and host families to connect with the Summerlin/Vegas community. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet me, your Local Community Counselor, ask questions about how the program works, and see firsthand how we support active, growing families.

January Cluster Meeting: Calico Basin Trail (Local Favorite)

On January 18, our LVN cluster met up for an energizing morning of fresh air and fitness.

Together with some of Marde’s cluster, we spent an hour and a half hiking and climbing through some beautiful terrain. It was the perfect chance to catch up and get our heart rates up!

After we finished our climb, we gathered around for a little friendly competition. For our quarterly child safety meeting, we played a quiz game all about identifying and preventing sunburns and heatstroke.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable day!

December Cluster Meeting

On December 27, our cluster gathered at my home for our very first meeting. It was a cozy, productive, and meaningful time spent getting to know each other.

Here is a quick look at what we got up to:

  • Brunch & Bonding: We kicked things off with some brunch. There’s nothing like food and coffee to get the conversation flowing as they shared stories of their time in the US.
  • Holiday Crafting: We spent time painting personalized frames. Each one featured a photo to be given as a heartfelt “thank you” to our wonderful host families.
  • Safety First: To keep our skills sharp, we played a competitive (but fun!) Kahoot quiz game. We focused on the essentials of car seat safety and identifying/managing head injuries—important reminders for everyone in childcare.

Thank you to everyone who came and made our first meeting so special!
