Meet the Counselor

Lili Goodman Freitas, Ph.D. – Northern Marin/ Sonoma  Community Counselor

I bring  to Au Pair In America a professional background in Counseling, Coaching, and Teaching, for over 2 decades. I love supporting international young adults and students to live joyfully and wholeheartedly while awakening to their gifts and talents, and deepening in their intercultural competence, their loving, and their personal effectiveness.

I serve as a wedding officiant throughout the Northern California, specializing with intercultural couples. I hold masters’ degrees in Psychology, Spiritual Science and in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Folkore-Folklife.

I’ve traveled to Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Germany, Russia, Israel, India, Italy, the Caribbean, Egypt and New Zealand, and love hosting new friends  from other cultures in my home. Through my local Rotary club, I’ve hosted 18 year old Youth Exchange students and served as a Youth Exchange counselor for over 15 years.   I play the fiddle with the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers. When not working, I delight in spending time with  family (4 amazing little grandkids) , gardening, trying out new recipes, renovating my house, singing and playing the fiddle into the wee hours of the night.

My  extensive international travel experience and experience counseling and hosting young adults helps me to better understand an Au Pair’s perspective in their journey with Au Pair In America!
