Half-price admission in honor of George Washington. Visit the home of George Washington’s mother, Mary, and tour the gardens she enjoyed so much. George Washington bought this home for his mother in 1772 and she lived here during the last 17 years of her life. Among the period furnishings are some of Mary’s personal possessions, including her “best dressing glass” willed at her death to George.
