1 – Ice Block Treasure Hunt
Here’s a great activity for a HOT summer day that will keep your kids both cool and entertained! And best of all, you most likely already have all the materials that you’ll need in your home. Simply gather some of your children’s small toys—plastic animals, character figurines, bath toys, etc.—and freeze them in a large container of water to make a large ice block. Then, provide your kids with a few tools and let them get to work excavating their treasures!

Let your kids make some interesting art with a summer twist—they can use squirt guns to create their masterpieces! Kids will have a blast putting their toys to new use with this fun and easy activity.

If you’re looking for a fun, educational activity for kids of all ages, sensory bins are a great option! They’re easy to make, they keep children occupied for hours, and you can customize them to suit your children’s interests. Simply take a large plastic container and fill it with interesting materials and objects. Then let your kids explore, engaging all of their senses!
Here are a few ideas for materials to fill your bins: Water, rice, shaving cream, water beads, sand, seashells, alphabet tiles, animal figurines, pipe cleaners, marshmallows, straws, feathers…the possibilities are endless!
