Meet the Counselor

Carve a Jack O’Lantern cluster meeting

Having been a counselor for the past 20 years, my family and I have learned a great deal about other cultures and customs. We have also learned that everyone is more alike than different!   I love being a part of Au Pair In America. The hundreds of young women who have been a part of my cluster have grown and matured during their time as an au pair. It is such an honor to be a part of that process. Over time, I have watched host families and au pairs bond and enjoy a lifelong friendship, proving that this “heart to heart” program not only solved the host family’s childcare issues but brought into their lives a new family member. The host children benefit as well by learning about cultural differences in their homes. Many host children adopt a more worldly perspective and enjoy speaking a second or third language.

Every Month the Au Pairs and I have a cluster activity arranged to bring them out to points of interest within our community. These events bring the Au Pairs together to meet each other and discuss valuable tips on life in the USA.  Once a quarter information about childcare and safety is covered. Each week of the summer activities and crafts are provided to the Au pair for our “Camp Au pair” experiences.

Au Pair in America has provided flexible, dependable childcare with a cultural flair for over 30 years.   I look forward to helping any family have a successful experience with Au Pair In America!
