New in 2024 – Inpatient Mental Health Benefit
$10,000 for APs arriving/extending on or after 1/1/24. This is meant to provide coverage while
an AP is stabilized for evacuation home.
Mental Health Coverage – How to Access
All au pairs have access to $500 Outpatient Mental Health Benefit. To access a list of facilities,

This is the same link/procedure used to search for medical care. Enter zip code – choose Passport
to Healthcare® Primary PPO Network – Choose “Mental Health” then “Mental Health
Professionals” which brings up a list of different specialties – they should choose the one that
applies – and then it brings up a list of providers.
Doctor Please – Free Tele-Visit Consult
There is no charge to use this if an au pair would like to discuss a (covered) medical condition
over the phone first before going to a facility – – they can call this free service “Doctor Please” –
with their insurance card in front of them as they will need to provide certain details –
855-327-1411. This service can advise and prescribe simple medicine if need be – or might
suggest to be seen in person should the medical condition require.
Birth Control Coverage
If prescribed for the sole purpose of preventing conception it is not covered. If it is prescribed to
treat a covered medical complaint it will be covered. Au Pairs who are seeking birth control to
prevent conception can go to Planned Parenthood and other community clinics or health
departments/family planning clinics,

Fill in your zip code or City, State and search within 5 miles (or more) to find a location near
you. On the next screen – select the “Passport to Healthcare Primary PPO Network” option and
hit continue. Then you will see this: “Find what you need by category” – there are several
choices. You can search for an ‘Urgent Care’ or ‘Walk-In Clinic.’ Au pairs use these most
because no appointment is required and you can go the same day. Medical Doctor or Specialist
are by appointment in a doctor’s office.
