Websites where you can search for local volunteer opportunities
- Reimagine CVA – Search local volunteer opportunities. Their mission: “Together we can ReImagineCVA and work toward a collective vision that brings about sustainable change in our region so that all community members can thrive.”
- Volunteer Match – Search in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities in the area.
Individual Organizations with Volunteer Opportunities
- Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA – Their mission: “Advance the compassionate treatment of animals by providing sheltering, medical care, and behavioral services for dogs and cats; promoting permanent, caring homes; and furthering education and outreach.”
- Jefferson-Madison Regional Library – It looks like the volunteer opportunities fill up fast, but check back periodically to see if something opens up that you are interested in.
- The Haven – A day shelter for people experiencing homelessness. Their mission: “Motivated by radical hospitality, we strive to be the point of entry for people seeking stable housing. We open the doors wide for any and everyone, no matter their circumstances.”
- UVA University Hospital – Search for a variety of volunteer opportunities at the hospital including visiting patients, helping in the gift shop, organizing donations, and playing music for patients and staff.
