Fabiola, an au pair from Costa Rica, recently wrote to share how happy she is to have followed her dreams to join a host family through Au Pair in America. Her thoughts about this experience provide great insight for families considering au pair child care.
I am Fabiola Rodríguez Guillén. I’m 26 years old and from Costa Rica. I came to the United States six months ago with the great illusion that I would have a great year. My instinct did not betray me, because they have been the best of my life. I’m so happy to share with all of you about my experience as an au pair.
I have meet wonderful people and discovered new and beautiful places that have allowed me to have the best memories of my life as an au pair. I’m living the experience of a new language and a new culture. I came here with the idea of improving my English, but when I return to my country, I will take more than that.
It is my pleasure to show you a couple of pictures of me staying during this time with my host family and my host kids. My host family have opened the doors of their house, but the most important thing has been that they have opened the doors of their heart.
Now, I am very happy to continue with my year since there are many more adventures to live. I am able to tell other people to always follow their dreams.
Thank you, Fabiola, for sharing your experience as an au pair with your wonderful host family. We are happy to hear that life as an au pair is living up to your expectations as you enjoy the American culture and improve your English, too!
