The heartbeat of Au Pair in America finds its rhythm in the collective tempo of families and au pairs across the U.S. Our heart beats in time with the hopes and dreams of these folks as they reach out to find convenient child care and international opportunity in the spirit of cultural exchange. We love the work we do to provide personal support and institutional strength to all members of the au pair community.
Our heart beats with au pairs in the spirit of exploration, service and bravery. Au pairs help our families and communities in so many ways. Convenient in-home child care is notable, but it’s just icing on the cake compared with the cultural enrichment and educational opportunities they provide. Au pairs are international students, teachers, cultural ambassadors, child care providers, family members and friends. That’s an impressive job description.
Au pairs help us become more fluent in the global conversation and raise our kids to be smart and responsible citizens of the world, moving forward from a place of knowing experience — not fearful ignorance.
Our heart beats in time with host families in the spirit of parenting, education and leadership. Au pair host families are so important to cultural exchange and education in the U.S. It isn’t easy to balance our responsibilities and hopes as parents for everything we want to give our children with our responsibilities as adults to work, run a household and maintain some semblance of a social life. Families that find their child care solution with an au pair add an enriching dynamic to their homes.
Host families not only welcome a remarkable opportunity for international education within their homes but also to American communities. Au pairs helps us all as they teach us about distant parts of an increasingly connected world. Without host families, this resource would be sadly lacking.
Our heartbeat is our ongoing promise in the spirit of support, service and accountability. We enjoy the work we do to steadfastly support American families and international youth, global skills and intercultural dialog. We started working with the U.S. Department of State three decades ago as the J-1 Visa Au Pair program was initiated. Being there from the beginning, we are proud to be recognized as the leading agency for compassionate cultural care in the field of international education and exchange.
We set the bar high for au pair child care. Our organizational strength is important to give families and au pairs peace of mind with their child care and cultural exchange experiences. Each day, we continue to put our hearts into the work we set out to do all those years ago in service of beneficial child care and cultural exchange. As always, thank you to the courageous, open-minded and compassionate families and au pairs that make our work such a privilege.
