December Holiday Cluster Meeting

Our December 2015 Cluster Meeting was full of fun and laughter.

Our December 2015 Cluster Meeting was full of fun.

From reviewing important seasonal safety tips to sharing holiday traditions from many different countries, our December cluster meeting was full of learning and fun. Each Au Pair brought a treat that reminded her of the holidays and a wrapped present for a gift exchange.
While we all munched on the delicious food, Community Counselor Catherine McEaddy Holmes reviewed the American Academy of Pediatric’s Holiday Home Safety Tips and led a discussion on being aware of holiday seasonal dangers with children of all ages.

The Au Pairs then played the hilarious “Merry Christmas Paper Plate Game” (Happy Home Fairy).

We decided to exchange presents by drawing names, and we took turns discussing how the holidays are celebrated throughout the world. In our meeting, we had au pairs from Israel, Germany, Bolivia, Peru, Panama, Poland, Mexico, and Columbia. We were all amazed at many similarities there are (lights, family, and important foods), as well as the many differences (fireworks, Santa Claus, and religious traditions).

I’ve shared a few more photos from our fun gathering below.
