Summer has finally arrived with warmer weather! For June’s cluster meeting, we gathered for Adams Morgan Movie Night to watch the hilarious “School of Rock” on an outdoor screen as we munched on popcorn and other treats.

Outdoor movies only work after the sun has set, but we enjoyed getting to know each other better as we sat on the comfortable athletic field and waited for the evening to begin. Our gathering included au pairs from South Africa, Germany, Denmark, Bolivia, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador, Poland, and Israel, who delighted in chatting about their experiences in the US and their plans for the summer.

Summer nights in DC are filled with outdoor flicks. From “Inside Out” in Columbia Heights and “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, & Blonde” in Farragut Park to “Indiana Jones” in Kalorama and “Zootopia” at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, free films are being shown throughout the city. And this is just a small sample! DC Outdoor Films has an extensive list and a map to help you plan your evenings enjoying the silver screen. (Follow their twitter feed for last-minute changes.)
